中南米4か国（メキシコ、ペルー、アルゼンチンおよびチリ）の高校生と引率の先生計29名御一行が2018年11月28日に本学いのち博物館を訪問しました。
御一行にはJISTEC専務理事の広瀬研吉先生、JST職員の松本茂様および末森光子様もご同行いただきました。
その際、獣医学部の黄鴻堅教授がいのち博物館の展示物をスペイン語で説明しました。
高校生たちは様々な動物の前肢骨格の進化と機能について、強い好奇心を持って学習していました。また、アナコンダ、象、ジャンガリアンハムスターなどの骨格標本に大いに関心を持ち、特に象の頭蓋骨の重さに驚いたようでした。

Latin American high school student delegation visited Life Museum

A delegation of high school students and their teachers, totaling 29 persons from Mexico, Peru, Argentina and Chile visited Azabu University Life Museum on November 28, 2018.
The delegation was accompanied by Professor Hirose Kenichi of JISTEC as well as Mr. Matsumoto Sigeru and Ms. Suemori Michiko of JST.
The students and their teachers were guided around the Life Museum of Azabu University by Professor Ooi Hong Kean, who gave them a briefing in Spanish.
The visitors showed great interest in the skeletal exhibits, especially in the modification of fore limbs of the various animals to adapt to their relevant function for survival. The students were also very much impressed by the complete skeletons of anaconda, Asian elephant and Djungarian hamster. They were also very surprised by the weight of the elephant skull.
