2025年5月15日、オハイオ州立大学（OSU）の茨木教授と野田教授率いる16名学部生が、海外研修プログラムの一環として、麻布大学いのちの博物館を訪れました。麻布大学での研修は、平先生が受け入れホストとなり、森田先生、リンチ先生、石原先生，黄先生らの協力を得て行われました。OSU学生たちは，博物館の展示物や展示方法に大きな感銘を受けました。黄先生と獣医学部5年生の合地拓也さんが、OSU学生たちに博物館の展示品を英語で紹介しました。また，博物館の山口さんが写真撮影を手伝いながら説明に加わりました。

On May 15, 2025, a total of 16 Ohio State University (OSU) undergraduate students, led by Drs. Ibaraki and Noda, professors of OSU, visited the Life Museum of Azabu University, as part of the Study Abroad Program. The part of the program at Azabu University was hosted by Dr. Taira, with the cooperation of Drs. Morita, Lynch, Ishihara and Ooi. The OSU students were very impressed with what they saw at the museum. Dr. Ooi and Mr. Gochi Takuya, a fifth-year veterinary student, gave the OSU students a guided tour of the museum. Ms. Yamaguchi, the museum receptionist, helped with taking the photographs.

The following are some of the comments made by the OSU students.

・博物館のテーマやコンセプト自体が分かりやすく説明が明白だった。
・イルカのヒレに指の骨が含まれているとは知りませんでした。
・東京・麻布にあった大学キャンパスが第二次世界大戦中に爆撃で廃墟と化してしまったのは残念です。しかし、現在のキャンパスに移転したことで、今日のような発展を遂げることができたことは素晴らしいです。
・魚全体を透明化し骨格だけを残すという技法は、きっと楽しい作業なのでしょう。
・これまで多くの博物館に行ったことがありますが、体験型のセクションがある博物館はごくわずかです。ゾウの骨に触れたり、下顎や頭蓋骨を持ち上げたりするのは、忘れられない体験です。
・ナマケモノは他の哺乳類の7つの頸椎と違って、9つの頸椎を持っていると聞いて驚きました。
・キリンの前脚の下部長骨が、実は人差し指が進化したものだと知り、本当にびっくりしました。

・The theme and concepts of the museum itself were beautifully and cohesively explained to us.
・I didn't know that the dolphin's fin contains the digital finger bones.
・It is unfortunate that the university campus at Azabu in Tokyo was bombed to rubble during the Second World War. However, its transfer to the present-day campus has allowed it to develop into what it is today.
・The technique of making the whole fish transparent and leaving its skeleton intact must be a fun process.
・Although I have been to many museums, there are only very few where there is an interactive section. Touching the bones and holding up the jaws and cranium of an elephant is an unforgettable experience.
・It is surprising to be told that the sloth has 9 cervical vertebrae rather than the 7 as seen in other mammals.
・It is amazing to learn that the lower long bone of the foreleg of a giraffe is actually its modified forefinger.
